Watch Pixiedust Papillon Puppies grow and change from week to week. Every week we will add new Papillon puppy pictures.
This is a new born Papillon puppy. Papillons are a toy breed, making litters of only 1 to 3 pups usually. The papillon puppies are themselves tiny and fragile at birth. It is important that they are kept warm and the mother cares for them. It can be hard to tell the exact color when pups are wet. Reds will get lighter, red sables will lose some of smuttiness they are born with, and hound tris can look almost black and white. This Papillon puppy is a red sable. Sable because there are some black hairs mixed in the red. As this papillon puppy gets older, the narrowest part of the blaze at the top of the head will disappear and be solid color. Notice the nose is pink. Some papillons are born with a faint hint of nose color, others, like this papillon, will get darker with maturity. Papillons are not born with erect ears, long coats or long fringe. That takes almost 2 years to fully grow on papillons.
Pixiedust Papillon female puppy at 2 weeks
old. Her size has increased well, her mom is taking very good care of her. Most
notable change is the that the nose is getting dark pigment.
Here is the Pixiedust Papillon puppy at 3 weeks old. Notice how the color has become more red and less black. Face is still very blunt and ears are still down. Very little change at this age is evident in photos.
Pixiedust Papillon girl is just barely 4 weeks old. She is now toddling, (not really walking, not still crawling) around and starting to explore mom's food dish and her surroundings. It is obvious that she is growing, but no real changes have taken place. Ears are still down, color has not changed much and she still has her baby face. Only visible change is the blaze is closing at the very back of the head.
Now at 5 weeks old, this Pixiedust papillon puppy is starting to be more interested in her surroundings. Her ears are not yet up. Her nose has gotten black.
The Pixiedust Papillon female puppy is finally starting to look like a papillon puppy at 6 weeks old. she is showing more interest in toys and in her surroundings.
Puppyhood is in full bloom at 7 weeks old. Papillons now start to develop their own personalities. A leash is not appreciated by her, but it keeps her from running out of camera range.
