Shipping of Pixiedust Papillon puppies to new homes.
WE Only ship in the lower 48--no shipping to Canada or overseas.
NEW---PLEASE NOTE.
Due to high shipping prices, Pixiedust Papillons will make an
attempt to help buyers of our papillon puppies by meeting them
partway or by delivering to the buyer's home. But we do want to do our
best to help those who want to own one of our papillon puppies. The cost for this will be
determined before the time of delivery and will depend on factors such as
distance and gas prices at the time of delivery. We have been criticized by our
"competition" for meeting buyers part way--sometimes at a hotel where
the buyer had to stay for the night because of distance. We refuse to bow to
this criticism and the buyers are grateful that we are willing to do our best to
make it easier on them own one of ur wonderful papillons.
Much will depend on both weather (we do not travel in the winter) and time and distance, and this service will NOT be available for every buyer.
Here are the answers to questions about shipping Pixiedust Puppies. It used to be fairly easy to safely fly papillon puppies to it's new home. Now, with all the airlines merging, going bankrupt and changing policies and flights, all we can do ask for your location when you inquire about our papillons , so that we may see how to get a papillon puppy to you. Pixiedust Papillons ship out of Pittsburgh International Airport, and Cleveland. So far, the price for everything has risen to about $350 for all the things involved in shipping--airfare, crate, vet certificate, shipping labels, shipping dishes and whatever else the airlines may require.
No Airline will transfer papillon puppies to another airline. USAIR will not take any dogs or puppies--period. Our Papillons must go the entire way on one airline. Papillon puppies can change flights, but not airlines. We must use a MAJOR airport, not a small local one. If there is a layover or a transfer between planes for the same airline, there MUST be at least one hour --and some airlines require 2 hours--between flights to give them time to take the Papillons off one flight and send on the next. There cannot be more than 4 hours between, as Federal regulations Require that the papillon puppy be kenneled at a boarding facility or sent back if there is more that 4 hours between flights. Papillons are not sent on EXPRESS type flights--the holds are not heated or cooled.
There are strict regulations concerning weather and temps, so weather may delay getting a papillon puppy to you.
Pixiedust Papillons have been shipping by air for over 15 years and have never lost a papillon puppy. This is still the safest way to ship. In fact, many times a SHORT flight is better than a long drive for papillon puppies. The time saved by flying papillon puppies means more time for you and the papillon puppy to adjust to it's new home. After all, the puppy does not know you, and a long drive just delays the time the papillon puppy has to figure out just where it's new home is.
Due to both EU regulations AND USA security restrictions for shipping overseas, we no longer can send a dog to Europe. If you wish to import a Pixiedust Papillon you must make arrangements to come to the USA to pick up a papillon puppy.
